A Gathering Place for Freedom: Stories from the African Meeting House

L’Merchie Frazier, Director of Education for the Museum of African American History, Boston/Nantucket

A visual and performance artist, educator and consultant, L’Merchie will spin tales of the African Meeting House on Beacon Hill, the oldest black church edifice still standing in the United States and the heart of Boston’s 19th century African American community. The Meeting House was host to key figures in the Abolitionist Movement. A published writer, the recipient of many awards in Arts and Education and a world traveler, L’Merchie will shed new light on people involved with the Meeting House.
