Partners on the Journey
Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disease that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually even the ability to carry out the simplest tasks.
Many individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease require a safe, secure setting, where there is a specialized approach to their care.
- An eighty-five year old retired priest, scholar, teacher, mentor and friend endures the ravages of dementia in his last years….
- A Nobel price recipient who helped decipher the genetic code, is now eighty-three years old, and needs a personal escort from his apartment to the dining room….
- A seventy-eight year old woman who raised four children, doesn’t know how to put her key in the door any more…..
Alzheimer’s disease does not discriminate.
Youville Place in Lexington, Massachusetts will offer the only Catholic, not for profit assisted living dementia care in Eastern Massachusetts.
A three million dollar renovation project will convert the courtyard level of Youville Place to a state of the art Memory Support Community.
Each resident at Youville Place is valued and recognized as a unique individual and is respected for the person they have been throughout their journey.
How can you help?
We are depending on the generosity of the friends of Youville to raise the two million dollars needed for this project.
